1、 Compositional differences
Big anti white water generally refers to diethylene glycol butyl ether, while small anti white water usually refers to ethylene glycol butyl ether.
2、 Different physical properties
1. Boiling point:
Diethylene glycol butyl ether (Da Fang Bai Shui) has a relatively high boiling point of about 230 ℃.
Ethylene glycol butyl ether (small anti white water) has a low boiling point of about 171 ℃.
2. Solubility:
Both can be miscible with water, but there may be differences when dissolving certain specific substances. Da Fang Bai Shui has good solubility for some high boiling resins and dyes. Small anti white water may have stronger solubility for some organic compounds with low to medium boiling points.
3、 Purpose:
1. Common use:
In the field of coatings: used as a solvent in coatings, it can adjust the viscosity of coatings, improve the leveling and drying speed of coatings, and make coatings more uniform and smooth during the construction process.
Ink industry: Helps with ink dispersion and stability, improving printing quality.
Cleaning agent: can be used to clean some precision instruments, metal surfaces, etc., removing oil stains and impurities.
2. Different focuses:
Large anti white water (diethylene glycol butyl ether): Due to its high boiling point, it is more suitable for use in high-temperature environments or processes with high boiling point requirements. For example, in some baking paint processes, it can maintain stability at higher temperatures and will not evaporate too quickly.
Small anti white water (ethylene glycol butyl ether): commonly used in situations where there are certain requirements for volatilization rate. For example, in some fast drying coatings or inks, it can not only dissolve and disperse, but also evaporate in a short period of time, accelerating the drying process.
